Packing MaterialsYour new rubber stamps will arrive carefully packed using reclaimed packing materials. You may even get recycled sheets of newsprint that have figure drawings on them. These life drawing studies pile up after weeks and weeks of figure drawing practice, and they are not archival, so it's good to get one more use out of the paper.  Some of my customers have taken them a step further, using the crumpled drawings for other art projects.  I highly encourage this and if you do, send a photo!

Old Purple Thumb WorksSteven Vander Meer has been designing and making fine art rubber stamps since 1993. The studio, not open to the public except on special occasions, is called Old Purple Thumb Works and sits near Arcata, California on the spit between  the Pacific Ocean and Humboldt Bay.  Meer Image designs are unique, and the stamps are very well crafted, making them collectors items.  Inventory is manufactured on site and stocked ahead so orders can be filled immediately by the sole proprietor.

BoomerangVander Meer is also an accomplished filmmaker, his animated shorts have been screened and awarded internationally since 1988.  He often uses rubber stamps in his animations, which are all hand drawn on 3X5 inch index cards.  You can learn more and watch the films on his other web site:  stevenvandermeer.com
